Big Fourth Quarter Lifts CPP Over Dominguez Hills

CARSON, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team outscored Cal State Dominquez Hills by nine points in the fourth quarter to earn a comeback win on the road 67-60 on Thursday night in the Torodome.
 
The Broncos improve to 5-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) going 7-6 overall on the season while CSUDH falls to 4-8 overall, 1-4 CCAA.
 
Chelsea Waddy-Blow led the way for CPP, collecting a game high 17 points, going 7-of-7 from the free throw line.
 
The Toros stated out hot in the first quarter, jumping out to a 22-12 lead. The Broncos chipped away at the lead throughout the night before a big fourth quarter performance secured the victory for CPP.
 
Following Waddy-Blow was Dominique Dotson who went 2-of-5 from three-point range for 13 points and Erin Hagan with 10 points.
 
The Broncos defense was tough to beat, holding Dominguez Hills to a shooting percentage of 30 percent from the field while only 16 percent from behind the arc.
 
Also contributing for CPP Was Priscilla Brooks with nine rebounds and eight points and Jordan Kimbrough with eight points and seven rebounds.
 
Cal Poly Pomona returns to action on Saturday night as they travel to take on CCAA opponent Cal State Los Angeles with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
