Broncos Celebrate Senior Night with 3-1 Win Over CSUSB

POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team kept themselves in the playoff hunt, closing out the regular season with a 3-1 win over CSU San Bernardino at Kellogg Stadium on Friday evening.

With the win, the Broncos improve to 10-5-2 overall and 6-4-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. CPP will await the final results of the remaining CCAA teams to determine seeding for the conference tournament.

Offense was hard to come by in the first half for both teams as the Broncos registered the only two shots of the half, playing to a 0-0 tie.

CPP finished with nine total shots, landing six on target while the Coyotes tallied five shots on goal.

Amanda Duran broke open the scoring in the 51st minute, dribbling through the last defender before beating the keeper one on one.

Celebrating senior night for the Broncos, Daisy Duran scored twice in her final regular season game for CPP, dribbling through a defender before sneaking the ball past a diving keeper from 12 yards out.

She added another goal off a penalty shot, kicking into the bottom right corner to score her sixth goal of the season, setting a career high for goals in a season.

Senior goalie Ricki Ives notched four saves for the Broncos to keep her team on top.
