CARSON – The Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team saw their winning streak end at two as they fell to Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-1 (22-25, 16-25, 25-14, 20-25) on the road on Saturday night.
The Broncos (8-8, 4-5 CCAA) closed off a busy week, defeating No. 23 Cal State San Bernardino on Wednesday before closing out a five-set win against Cal State Los Angeles last night.
Andrea Bosnic finished the match with team highs in kills with 14 and in digs with 18. Also in the backline was
Samantha Figueroa who collected 17 digs and Alexandria who totaled 11 digs.
CSUDH held an advantage over the Broncos in hitting percentage .176 to .096 and committed 20 errors compared to 30 from CPP.
Alexandra Gresham tallied 13 kills while
Jenna Goldsberry added seven of her own, and
Alina Smith notched a match high 37 assists to go along with 12 digs. In three matches this week, Smith has totaled 132 combined assists for the Broncos.
The Broncos will continue their five-match road trip as they travel to UC San Diego and Cal State San Marcos next week beginning Friday, Oct. 13.
