POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team picked up their second win of the season on Wednesday night, defeating Bethesda University 86-55 at Kellogg Arena.
Jordan Ogundiran led the Broncos (2-1) with a game-high 26 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the field and 9-of-12 from the free throw line.
The Broncos got off to a quick start as Ogundiran hit a three to open the scoring and the Broncos held on to that lead for the remainder of the game, never trailing once.
After building a 12-1 lead in the first half, the Broncos added to their advantage, shooting 47 percent from the field, and taking a 40-24 lead into halftime.
William Christmas notched his second straight double-double, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds while
Daylan Lawrence and Phoenix Shackelford added 12 points each.
The Broncos defense held Bethesda to only 31 percent from the field, going 6-of-21 from three-point range. CPP also led in rebounds, 46-31.
CPP took their first 20-point lead in the second half with just over eight minutes to play as a jumper from
Quentin Taylor made it 65-45.
Ogundiran also added a team-high five steals as the Broncos finished with 13 total takeaways
CPP prepares for their first road trip as they travel to Stanislaus State on Saturday, Nov. 18, to open California Collegiate Athletic Association play.
