Men's Basketball to Host Chico and Humboldt State

Pomona – The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team will face Chico State and Humboldt State, opening their first weekend of California Collegiate Athletic Association play at Kellogg Arena.

Last Week: The Broncos (4-1) dominated Antelope Valley last week, beating the Pioneers 64-40. Jeff Nibo led the Bronco attack with 18 points in 23 minutes. The Bronco defense held the Pioneer offense to under 30 percent shooting from the floor and under 15 percent from three-point range.
 
By the Numbers: William Christmas continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 13.8 points a game. As a team, they are shooting 42 percent from the field and 27 percent from three-point range. The Broncos hold opposing offenses to 36 percent shooting from the field. Last year, the Broncos squeaked by the Wildcats 63-60 at home while losing to the Jacks 60-71 on the road.
 
Wildcat Report:
- Chico State comes in with a 4-1 record overall and a CCAA record of 2-0.
- Correy Silverstrom leads the Wildcats in scoring with 16.8 points a game.
- Last year, the Broncos held Silverstrom to 17 percent shooting from the field.
- As a team, the Wildcats are shooting 51 percent on the floor and 44 percent from three-point land.
- The Wildcats will need to slow down the Bronco offense who shot 55 percent from the field last year.  
 
Jack Report:
- Humboldt State comes in with a 3-4 record overall and has yet to win a CCAA game this season with a record of 0-2.
- Tyras Rattler Jr. leads the Jacks offense, scoring 15.4 points a game.
- As a team, they shoot 46 percent from the field and 30 percent from beyond the arc.
- Last year, the Jacks shot 44 percent from the field against the Broncos. At halftime, the Broncos led by one point but the Jacks outscored them 37-49 in the second half.
