LA JOLLA – The Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team saw their California Collegiate Athletics Association Tournament run come to an end on the wrong side of a loss as Cal State Los Angeles earned the title with a 2-0 win at the Triton Soccer Stadium on Sunday.
The Broncos move to 14-5 overall on the year and will now turn their attention to the NCAA West Region Selection show scheduled for Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Cal State LA jumped ahead quickly, scoring what would be the game-winner in the seventh minute of play after collecting a cross and sending the ball to the upper left corner of the net.
CPP pressured the Eagles throughout the entire match, tallying 13 shots in the first half and 16 in the second for a total of eight shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net as CSULA blanked the Broncos with eight saves.
The Eagles added an insurance goal late in the second half after a breakaway in the 88th minute.

In the latest NCAA West Region Poll, the Broncos ranked fourth overall. Since then, they have picked up a 3-0 win over San Francisco State in order to advance to today's title game. The top six ranked teams from each region will advance to the West Region Tournament.
