POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team fell just short of a comeback against Cal State San Bernardino, losing 70-65 on the road on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Broncos started out strong, scoring the first seven points of the game before the Coyotes settled down to take the lead at 13-12.
- CSUSB edged out CPP in shooting percentage 38 to 33 while also winning the rebounding margin at 37-34.
- The Coyotes built an eight-point lead in the first half before heading into the break with a 29-24 advantage.
- CPP struggled to start the second half as San Bernardino built an 18-point lead with just over 12 minutes remaining in the contest.
- Five minutes later the Broncos chipped away at the deficit, cutting it to 10 at 59-49 before a 10-3 run brought the CPP to within three points.
- The Coyotes sealed the victory with a three-pointer in the final 16 seconds to keep the lead out of reach for CPP.
KEY PERFORMERS:
OUTSIDE THE BOX:
- The loss is the first for the Broncos against the Coyotes since the 2013-14 season when they lost 62-53 at home.
- CPP snapped a six-game winning streak while taking their first loss in conference play this season.
