Broncos Baseball set for Game Series Against CSU Monterey Bay

POMONA, Calif. – Weather won't stop the Broncos from trying to close out non-conference action on a good note as the Cal Poly Pomona Baseball team gets ready for a three-game series against Cal State Monterey Bay this weekend.
 
Rain and moved game one of the series to Thursday night, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. The remaining two games will be played as the weather allows it on either Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday.

Last Week: The Broncos suffered another series loss, this time against Point Loma Nazarene who won games one and three on the road. In game two in San Diego, the Broncos fought back from a 9-3 deficit to win 14-12 with Cody Martin hitting two home runs in the process.
 
Quick Highlights: Martin has been a leader at the plate, earning a batting average of .417 with a team high eight RBIs. Jacob Bernardy has found a way to hit when it counts, racking up six RBIs this season off of eight hits.
 
As a team the Broncos hold a batting average of .307 while holding their opponent to an average of .218.
 
Batting .310 on the season, Chris Stratton has reached base 16 times so far this season, coming around to score on eight of those occasions to lead the Broncos in runs. He also leads in bases stolen with four.
 
About CSU Monterey Bay:
-The Otters enter the series with a 5-2 record
-Currently riding a four game winning streak, CSUMB swept a three-game series against Concordia (Ore.)
-Monterey Bay holds the second highest batting average at .329, recording 85 total hits so far
-On the mound, CSUMB holds a 4.71 ERA and has given up 33 earned runs.
