Broncos Travel to UC San Diego and CSU San Bernardino to End Road Schedule

POMONA, Calif. – With possible playoff implications on the line, the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team will play two key games this week, at current California Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) standings leader UC San Diego and at Cal State San Bernardino.
 
The Broncos (13-9, 11-5, CCAA) are ranked 10th in the NCAA Division II West Regional poll that was released on Wednesday afternoon. Sitting two spots out of a trip to the national tournament, the Broncos will look to pick up two key wins this weekend.
 
Last Week: In their only game of the week, the Broncos earned a 68-44 win over Humboldt State as Alyssa Benton recorded a game high 32 points, tying the program single game record for three-pointers made with eight.
 
Quick Hits: The Broncs currently sit in third place in the CCAA standings with the top four spots hosting a playoff game at the end of February.
 
The Broncos now hold the top rated defense in the league, allowing only 57.3 points per game.
 
Chelsea Waddy-Blow continues to be an offensive leader for the Broncos, averaging a team high 12.3 points per game. Following her is Priscilla Brooks with 9.1 ppg while her average of 8.2 rebounds per game ranks third in the CCAA.
 
About UC San Diego:
- UC San Diego enters the weekend at 18-5 overall and 14-3 in conference
-San Diego holds the top scoring offense in the CCAA, averaging 69.6 points per game-
-Defensively, the Tritons are fifth in the conference allowing 60.9 ppg
-UCSD suffered a 65-56 loss earlier in the season while on the road at CPP
 
About CSU San Bernardino:
-Holding a record of 13-7, 10-6 CCAA, CSUSB sits in fifth place in the CCAA standings
-the Coyotes hold the fourth best defense, allowing only 60.6 ppg but sit at ninth in scoring with 61.9 ppg
-CPP also registered a win against CSUSB in their first match up, winning 58-49 at home
