SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – With only two games left in the regular season, the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team moved back into fourth place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and the final home playoff spot with a 76-64 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday night.
The Broncos (14-10, 12-6 CCAA) broke a conference tie with San Bernardino (14-8, 11-7 CCAA) moving ahead of them in the standings.
In a total team effort, the Broncos had five players finish in double-digits in points with
Chelsea Waddy-Blow leading the way with 17 points.
Priscilla Brooks tallied a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds while
Erin Hagan finished with 13 points and
Jackie Ricketson and
Dominique Dotson both had 10 points each.
The Broncos scored the first four points of the game before building a 10 point lead after four minutes of play. CPP never trailed on the night adding to their lead in the second quarter before heading into the locker room with a 42-23 advantage.
Waddy-Blow added nine rebound while Ricketson finished with six assists and two blocks.
The Coyotes fought back in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Broncos 21-12 to bring the lead back to single digits.
CPP continued to find ways to score, shooting 44 percent from the floor while ended with a 20-of-25 mark from the free throw line.
The Broncos return to Kellogg Arena next Thursday and Saturday to close out the 2017 regular season against San Francisco State and Sonoma State.
