Broncos Finish Up Regular Season at Home, Look to Clinch a Playoff Berth

POMONA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team will finish up the final regular season games of the seasons in Kellogg Arena as they fight for a playoff spot against San Francisco State and Sonoma State.
 
The Broncos (10-12, 8-10 CCAA) currently sit in seventh place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and hold what would be the sixth seed in the tournament with Cal State San Marcos not being eligible for postseason.
 
Last Week: CPP registered a big win against Cal State San Bernardino as William Christmas found the ball with seconds to go, hitting a shot at the buzzer to lift the Broncos to a 45-43 victory. The win also broke a tie with the Coyotes, sending CPP up in the standings.
                        
Quick Hits: The Broncos have improved tremendously on the defensive side of the ball, moving up to the fourth ranked defense in the CCAA, allowing only 65.7 points per game.
 
CPP is holding their opponents to the sixth lowest field goal percentage (.423) and have totaled the fifth most turnovers at 352.
 
Jordan Ogundiran leads the Broncos with 12.3 points per game and in assists with 2.8 per game. His 33 steals is the ninth most in the league.
 
About San Francisco State:
-The Gators are in second place in the CCAA standings with a record of 22-3 and 15-3 CCAA
- SFSU is the second highest scoring team in the league, averaging 79.6 ppg
-Defensively, they rank sixth allowing 67.4 ppg
-The Gators have forced more turnovers than any other team with 402
-Jackson Warren leads SFSU with 16.6 ppg, second highest average in the CCAA
 
About Sonoma State:
-Sonoma State holds the third spot in the CCAA standings at 18-6, 14-4 CCAA
-The Seawolves rank first in the league in scoring defense, allowing 57.8 ppg
-Offensively, they have struggled, scoring 63.8 ppg, 10th lowest average
-Jimmy Golden leads SSU with 11.4 ppg
