Broncos Down Dominguez Hills 8-3 in Game Two

CARSON, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team had another dominating performance against Cal State Dominguez Hills, winning 8-3 on Friday afternoon to take a 2-0 advantage in the four game series.
 
Daniel Pitts and Frankie Nogales led the way for the Broncos (6-7, 2-0 CCAA) with Pitts recording three RBIs off of two hits and Nogales tallying three hits with two RBIs.
 
CPP scored in the first inning for the second game in a row, after Nic Hernandez singled down the right field line to bring in Chris Stratton.
 
The Broncos made it a 2-0 lead, adding another run in the second inning, this time Jacob Bernardy landing a sacrifice bunt to send Nogales home.
 
Jeremy Taylor got the start for the Broncos, pitching five innings with only six hits and two earned runs. Coming in relief and earning the win was Wyatt Shackleford who threw four innings with three hits, one run and two strikeouts.
 
The Toros tied the game in the fifth inning, scoring two runs to make it 2-2.
 
The Broncos answered back quickly in the seventh inning, putting up three runs highlighted by a two RBI double by Pitts.
 
CPP did the same thing in the ninth inning, putting the game way with three more runs, which once again included a double by Pitts.
 
The Broncos close out the four-game series at home on Homecoming day this Saturday with a double header set for noon and 3 p.m.
