Broncos Sweep Weekend Games with 55-45 Win Over CSU Los Angeles

POMONA, Calif. – Behind a double-double performance by Alyssa Benton, the Broncos swept this weekend's games with a 55-45 victory over Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday night in Kellogg Arena.

The Broncos (12-9, 10-5 CCAA) avenged a 51-48 loss to the Golden Eagles (11-12, 8-7 CCAA) on the road earlier this season.

Benton led both squads with 11 points and grabbed a game high 10 rebounds. Following her was Dominique Dotson with 10 points and Chelsea Waddy-Blow with nine points.

The Broncos played stellar on defense, holding the visitors to a field goal percentage of 28 percent while giving up less than 50 points in a game for the seventh time this season.

Just like against Dominguez Hills on Thursday, the Broncos never trailed on the night, holding their largest lead in the three minute mark of the third quarter, 38-17.

Also contributing for CPP was Priscilla Brooks with seven points and six boards while Erin Hagan finished with six points and three assists.

Led by Rikki Fabricius with 11 points, Cal State LA made a push in the fourth quarter, bringing the game to within six points with 4:01 on the clock.

The Broncos outscored CSULA down the stretch 13-9 to hold on for the win as they look to lock down a home playoff spot.

Next up for CPP is a road contest at Humboldt State on Feb. 11.
