Broncos Fall in Game One 8-6 Against Point Loma

POMONA, Calif. – Thursday's start to the series saw a lot of offense as the Cal Poly Pomona baseball team was unable to hold on to the comeback, losing 8-6 against Point Loma Nazarene University at Scolinos Field.

The Broncos (2-4) fell behind early in the second inning after the Sea Lions (3-2) tallied three runs to open up the scoring.

CPP came back to tie the game after scoring two runs in the bottom of the second and adding one more in the third.

Down 4-3, the Broncos took their first lead in the sixth after a triple by Brennan McKenzie brought in Daniel Pitts followed by a single by Bryce Graddy.

CPP's lead was short lived after Point Loma took it back the next inning, scoring three runs to put the game away.

Pitts and McKenzie each finished with three hits in the game while McKenzie totaled two RBIs.

Game two, originally scheduled for tomorrow at home, has been moved to Monday due to weather conditions. Both teams will resume play on Saturday at Point Loma with first pitch set for noon.
