Baseball Returns to Scolinos Field for Matchup with CSU San Bernardino

POMONA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team looks to continue their strong start in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play this week as they begin a four game series against Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday.
 
Game two of the series will continue at Scolinos Field on Friday before concluding in San Bernardino with a double-header on Saturday.
 
Last Week: The Broncos opened CCAA action last week, sweeping a four game series against Cal State Dominguez Hills while scoring 36 runs during the series.
 
Highlights: Jason Padlo had a fantastic week at the plate against CSUDH, going 9-for-13 with seven RBIs. He leads the CCAA in batting average at .500 and in on base percentage at .590.
 
Among other CCAA leaders is Chris Stratton who is first in runs scored with 17 and first in triples with three. Stratton is also eighth in stolen bases and ninth in hits (19).
 
Daniel Pitts is hitting .400 for the Broncos and is tied for second in the conference in doubles with seven so far this year.
 
As a team, the Broncos are hitting .316 which is tied for the second best average in the league.
 
About CSU San Bernardino:
-The Coyotes enter the weekend with a 2-10 record overall, splitting their first CCAA series 2-2 against CSUL
-CSUSB was chosen to finish third in the CCAA South Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll
-The Coyotes are batting .242 on the year while holding an ERA of 6.59
-Campeau Dominic leads CSUSB with a batting average of .346
