POMONA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team hits the road this weekend as they take on California Collegiate Athletic Association North Division opponent Cal State Monterey Bay in a three game series starting Saturday.
The Broncos (15-14, 11-7 CCAA) are coming off a three game series against Stanislaus State. CPP dropped the first two games before avoiding a sweep with a 7-3 win in game three.
On the mound,
Jeff Bain and
Henry Omana remain the strikeout leaders for CPP with 45 and 47 strikeouts. Bain,
Kyle Dohy and
Peter Beattie have all totaled three wins to lead the team.
The Broncos continue to lead the conference in batting average, hitting .301 collectively.
Jason Padlo and
Cody Martin hold the top averages on the team, hitting .381 and .366 respectively.
Daniel Pitts has tallied a team best 24 RBIs while
Chris Stratton leads in runs (28) and stolen bases (12).
CPP and CSUMB met earlier in the year as the Broncos hosted the Otters in a non-conference series. The Broncos won the first game 4-2 before losing the remaining game 7-6 and 5-3.
