Broncos Close Out Salt Lake City Trip with Another Win

SALT LAKE CITY – The Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season as the defense dominated against Davenport University in a 1-0 victory in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday morning.
 
Their second shutout in a row, the Broncos held Davenport without a shot for the entire game, outshooting their opponent 13-0.
 
Striking early, CPP's Daisy Duran repeated her performance from Thursday, scoring the opening goal of the game in just the third minute of play, moving her season total to two goals. D. Duran and Amanda Duran led with three shots each while Samantha Putnam and Ally La Carra-Platt each had two shots.
 
The Broncos hold two games next week, playing on the road at Point Loma on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 4:30 p.m. before holding their home opener against Cal Baptist on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
