By the Numbers: Freshman midfielder
Samantha Putnam has had a standout start with the Broncos, leading the team in points with two goals and a team-high four assists. Following her is
Amanda Duran and
Daisy Duran who tie for a team-high three goals each. CPP is averaging just under 15 shots per game with nearly half of those shots landing on target. Defensively, CPP has notched four shutouts this season and have given up only five goals.
Pioneers Report: The Pioneers have had an average start to their season, sitting at 3-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the CCAA. Defense has been a struggle for East Bay, giving up a league-high 15 while scoring only seven of their own. In their 2016 matchup with the Broncos, CSUEB came away with a 2-1 victory at home, their first win over the Broncos since the 2009 season.
Otters Report: CSU Monterey Bay enters the weekend with more draws than any other team in the CCAA at four. The Otters (3-1-4, 1-0-2 CCAA) have outscored their opponents by 10 goals, scoring 14 while allowing only four. CSUMB tallied six goals in two games this season against Saint Martin's and Holy Names. The Otters look to get their first win over the Broncos with a 1-0 win at home back in 2009.
