Broncos Dominate Otters in 86-60 Win

SEASIDE – The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team dominated Cal State Monterey Bay, winning 86-60 on the road as six Bronco players scored double-figures.

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
-    After trading points back and forth to start the game, the Broncos broke a 10-10 lead with a three-pointer by Jordan Ogundiran, giving CPP the lead for the remainder of the night.
-    Totaling 43 points in each half, the Broncos finished the game with a shooting percentage of 50 percent from the field.
-    CPP nearly doubled the Otters' score in the first half, finishing with a 43-22 lead at the break.
-    The Broncos continued to string together points throughout the night, keeping their lead in double figures before taking their largest lead at 26 points with 1:21 left in the game.

KEY PERFORMERS: 
-    Six players scored in double figures for the Broncos with William Christmas leading the way with 16 points.
-    Following him was Jordan Ogundiran with 15 points, while Phoenix Shackelford matched a career high for the third time this season with 13 points.
-    Riley Schaefer and Jeff Nibo each finished with 12 points while Quentin Taylor contributed 10 points.
-    Chris Sullivan played an all-round game, registering a team high seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

OUTSIDE THE BOX: 
-    The Broncos continue their CCAA dominance as they remain in first-place in the league standings.
-    CPP has added to their win streak, making it four straight wins.
-    With 86 points, the Broncos tied a season high in points while scoring their highest total in a CCAA game.

The Broncos will make their return to Kellogg Arena next week as they welcome in Stanislaus State on Thursday, Feb. 1.
