POMONA -- The Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team dominated every aspect of the contest, holding a 17-3 shot advantage in the 110-minute affair, but had to settle for the 0-0 tie with visiting Cal State San Marcos on Friday afternoon at Kellogg Stadium in Pomona.
The Broncos move to 4-7-2 overall and 0-5-2 in the CCAA while the Cougars are 5-5-2 overall (4-2-1 CCAA).
Of the 17 shots taken by CPP, 10 of them came in the second half. The Broncos also led 5-0 in corner kicks and 15 of the 18 fouls called in the contest were whistled on Cal State San Marcos. Cougar goalkeeper Yesenia Betancourt made seven saves while CPP's
Sydney Williams made two stops as both tallied a shutout to their names.
Allyssa Larkin fired a game-high four shots in the tie, two of them were on goal.
Cal Poly Pomona will play its final home match of the season Sunday when it hosts No. 10 UC San Diego at 2:00 pm at Kellogg Stadium. It will be Senior Day at Kellogg as seven CPP seniors will be honored in a special pre-game ceremony beginning at approximately 1:50 pm.
