Men's Soccer Pummels Sunbirds In NCAA Opener

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Eduard Lucas scored midway through the first half and Jimmie Villalobos and Eduardo Faria put icing on the cake (pun intended) with a pair of goals late in the second half, lifting the No. 5 seed Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over No. 4 seed Fresno Pacific in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship Tournament on a chilly night at Interbay Stadium in Seattle, Wash.

The Broncos (14-6) advance to the Second Round on Saturday at 7:00 pm against a familiar foe, top-seed and nationally-ranked Simon Fraser, also in Seattle.  The Broncos and Clan have faced each other in the NCAA tournament in each of the last two seasons with CPP advancing either by way of a victory (2017) or via penalty kicks (2016).

The Sunbirds saw their season come to an end, finishing with a 14-3-1 record.
