POMONA - The top-seeded Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team advanced to the semifinal round of the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament after defeating Cal State Dominguez Hills 73-60 at Kellogg Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Â Â After trailing to start, the Broncos tied the game at 11-11 before a three-pointer by
Phoenix Shackelford gave CPP the lead for the remainder of the night.
- Â Â CPP built an 11-point lead in the first half, using a 20-4 run to pull away from the visitors.
- Â Â The Toros fought back to come within six points, 33-27, heading into the locker rooms.
- Â Â CPP tallied 20 second-chance points and 20 points off turnovers while shooting 41 percent on the night.
- Â Â Dominguez Hills stayed close with the Broncos to start the second half but couldn't overcome the deficit.
- Â Â Holding a seven points lead, the Broncos extended their advantage over CSUDH using a 14-3 run to put the game out of reach.
KEY PERFORMERS:Â

Quentin Taylor led the Broncos with 12 points while
Jordan Ogundiran tallied 11 points and Shackelford collected 10 points.
- Â Â Will Christmas finished with eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.
OUTSIDE THE BOX:
- Â Â The Broncos picked up their third win over the Toros this season while Dominguez Hills has been unable to pick up a victory at Kellogg Arena since the 2009-10 season.
- Â Â CPP picked up their first tournament win since the 2015-16 season when the defeated San Francisco State in the opening round.
