POMONA - The Cal Poly Pomona baseball team fell in game two of their series against the Tritons of UC San Diego, losing 6-4 on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Â Â It was a pitcher's duel until the sixth inning as neither team could cross the plate.
- Â Â UCSD broke the tie, forcing a bases-load walk to go up 1-0.
- Â Â The Tritons added to their lead an inning later, stringing together two singles and two home runs to take a 5-0 advantage.
- Â Â CPP got on the board in the eighth inning as
Brennan McKenzie singled through the right side to score
Alex Kline.
- Â Â The Broncos kept things interesting in the ninth inning, tallying three runs as two runners scored on an error followed by a single by
Bryce Etchandy.
KEY PERFORMERS:Â
- Â Â Hernandez continued his streak of reaching base, collecting two hits on the day.

Drew Cowley, Etchandy, and McKenzie each tallied one hit and one RBI.
- Â Â
Ryan Alsworth took the loss on the day, tossing six innings while allowing one run on three hits with six strikeouts.

Brian Conley and
Darin May both pitched one inning of relief with Conly allowing four runs, one earned, and three hits, and May giving up one run on two hits.
OUTSIDE THE BOX:
- Â Â Hernandez has reached base safely in all 11 games this season, registering at least a hit 10 of those contests.
- Â Â Cowley has tallied an RBI in two straight contests while earning at least one in six games this season.
