TURLOCK, Calif. -- Eduardo Faria scored twice as the Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team dominated host Stanislaus State, 4-0, on Sunday at Warrior Stadium in Turlock.
The Broncos (5-3-2 overall) are unbeaten in their last six contests, rising to 4-0-1 in the CCAA. The Warriors have lost eight straight, stumbling to 3-8-0 overall and 0-6 in conference action.
Just 5:27 into the match, Faria got the Broncos on the scoreboard for the 1-0 lead before
Jimmie Villalobos scored in his eighth straight game -- and his career-best 10th goal of the season -- in the 31st minute for the 2-0 lead.
Faria added to the lead at 52:37, then
Adam Lopez scored his first goal of the season at 80:39 to contribute to the 4-0 victory.
CPP outshot Stanislaus 16-6, including 7-3 on goal.
Jordan Aldama made three saves on the day recording his first shutout of the year.
Cal Poly Pomona now returns home for its next six contests, beginning with a Thursday night date with Cal State Dominguez Hills at 7:00 pm in Pomona.
