POMONA -- Ally Wilder led the way with 14 kills and
Jazminn Parrish added 10, but the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team lost 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 25-17, 25-21) to visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday night at Kellogg Arena in Pomona.
The Broncos have lost four straight, dropping to 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the CCAA. Meanwhile, the Toros snapped their four-match losing streak, rising to 8-4 (1-4 CCAA).
After narrowly losing the first set, 25-23, the hosts rallied for a convincing 25-16 win in set number two to even the match at one set apiece. However, the Toros turned the momentum around and held on the rest of the way for the four-set win.
As Wilder and Parrish had double-digit kills,
Daisy Duke added nine kills while
Kira Zimmerman handed out 38 assists.Â
Brynn Sherbert led the defensive effort with 13 digs.
Cal Poly Pomona continues its five-match homestand Friday when UC San Diego comes to town. First serve from Kellogg Arena is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
