Broncos Return To Win Column Sunday At CSUSM

SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- Taylor Scott and Taylor Rasmussen each scored a goal as the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team notched a 2-0 shutout victory over host Cal State San Marcos on Sunday in San Marcos.

The Broncos rise to 6-3-0 overall and 2-1 in the CCAA.  The Cougars fall to 3-4-2 (2-2 CCAA).

"Today's result was a great response from our group today against a very tough team," said CPP head coach Jay Mason.  "I am proud of our team's ability to find success in a very hostile environment."

Scott scored her CCAA-leading sixth goal of the season in the 17th minute on a pass from Allyssa Larkin for the early 1-0 lead.  Rasmussen then scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Amanda Duran in the 51st minute.

The Broncos dominated the entire match, outshooting the Cougars 15-4, including 10-3 in the second half.  Sydney Williams scored the win between the posts for CPP, making three saves.

Cal Poly Pomona will head north on Friday to take on Chico State (7-2-1, 3-1 CCAA) at University Soccer Stadium in Chico.  Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
