CARSON, Calif. -- Jazminn Parrish went for 18 kills and 11 digs, but the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday at the Torodome in Carson.
The Broncos fall to 6-14 overall and 4-9 in the CCAA. The Toros rise to 12-7 (5-7 CCAA).
After losing the first set by a narrow score of 25-23, the Broncos battled back to even the match with a 25-21 win in set two. However, the host Toros scratched out another 25-23 win in the third set, then sealed the victory with a convincing 25-15 win in set four.
In addition to Parrish's 18 kills, both
Ally Wilder and
Daisy Duke each had nine kills while
Kaitlan Tucker had eight.Â
Brynn Sherbert made 16 digs while both
Kira Zimmerman and Parrish each added 11. The Broncos hit .185 as a team.
On the other side of the net, the Toros were led by the 15 kills of Rylee Brown.
Cal Poly Pomona will finish its five-match roadtrip Saturday at No. 24 Cal State LA (7:00 pm) before coming home to Kellogg Arena for its final three matches of the season.
