Broncos Earn Overtime Win At Sonoma, 2-1

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Cyro Oliveira scored in the 97th minute to lift the Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory over Sonoma State on Wednesday afternoon at the Seawolf Soccer Field in Rohnert Park.

The Broncos wrap up the regular season with an 11-4-2 overall record and move to 10-1-1 in the CCAA.

Oliveira's goal came after Sonoma State knotted the contest a 1-1 in the 86th minute to send the contest into extra time.  It was Jimmie Villalobos to score the game's first goal with five minutes left before halftime.  It was his league-leading 17th goal of the season.

Cal Poly Pomona (11-4-2 overall), which has secured one of the top two seeds and a First Round bye in the upcoming CCAA Tournament with a 10-1-1 record in league play, will return to action next Friday, Nov. 15 in the CCAA Semifinals on the campus of UC San Diego in La Jolla.  The Broncos, who captured the CCAA regular season crown a year ago, has a chance to repeat as conference champions should Cal State LA lose either of their final two regular season contests -- or tie both -- this weekend; the Golden Eagles are at San Francisco State Thursday (2 pm) and at Humboldt State Saturday (11:30 am).
