#24 Broncos Leads CCAA After Win Over Toros

POMONA -- With a 69-64 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Thursday night at Kellogg Arena for Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night, the 24th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team has not only won 11 straight games, but it has moved into first place in the CCAA with one game left in the regular season.

Should the Broncos (18-5, 16-5 CCAA) win on Saturday at home in the regular season finale against Cal State San Bernardino, they will capture back-to-back CCAA regular season titles for the second time in program history.  The Toros fell to 14-12 (12-9 CCAA).

Chris Sullivan led the way for CPP, scoring a season-high 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting.  William Christmas chipped in with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks.  Phoenix Shackelford added 11 points and Jordan Ogundiran finished with 10.

The Broncos ended the game shooting 42.9 percent on 27 of 63 while the Toros shot 34.9 percent (22 of 63).

Cal Poly Pomona will return to action Saturday night in the final regular season game of 2018-19, playing host to Cal State San Bernardino in Kellogg Arena.  It will also be Senior Night, and the Broncos will recognize their two seniors, Chris Sullivan and Jordan Ogundiran, in a special pre-game ceremony, prior to the 7:30 pm tipoff.
