No. 25 CPP Grabs Second-Straight Draw

SAN FRANCISCO – For the second game in a row, No. 25-ranked Cal Poly Pomona had to settle for a draw. The Broncos came from behind to force extra time but couldn't find the game winner in a 2-2 tie at San Francisco State.

The Broncos move to 3-2-3 overall, 0-0-2 in the CCAA. The Gators sit at 4-4-1, 0-1-1 with the tie.

SF State scored two early goals – in the 13th and 17th minutes – to put the pressure on CPP.

CPP rose to the occasion and Christian Miramontes put his team on the board in the 78th minute on a Melvyn Perez Cortez assist. Two minutes later, Kraig Bonanken coverted a penalty kick to even things up at 2-2.

The Broncos out-shot the Gators 17-to-7, including a 6-to-2 edge in overtime, but couldn't capitalize to take the lead.

Cal Poly Pomona returns to Kellogg Stadium for a three-game homestand, hosting Stanislaus State first on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
