Henschke Scores Hat Trick In Shutout Against Gators

POMONA – The No. 14 Cal Poly Pomona Broncos hosted the San Francisco State Gators for a high scoring victory, 4-0.
 
In the 42nd minute forward Paul Roger Henschke put the Broncos on the scoreboard as he hit a goal of an assist by midfielder Oscar Griehsel Facey.
 
For his second goal of the match, Henschke broke the defense in the 69th minute for an unassisted goal.
 
For the hat trick, Henschke was rewarded a penalty kick after pressing the defense and scored his third goal in the 70th minute.
 
To close the game, the final goal was made by forward Cris Prieto off an assist by midfielder Melvin Leon. With this win the Broncos now have an overall record of 9-1-4, and CCAA record of 5-0-3.
 
Henschke, Griehsel Facey, and defender Pele Martinez each tallied four shots on the game, respectively. Forward Jerry Ramirez and midfielder Melvyn Perez Cortez took three shots on the game.
 
"It was a very good team performance today," said coach Matt O'Sullivan. "We attacked very well and we were very stable defensively. Despite the result we can massively improve. That's what we need to do to become a championship caliber team."
 
CPP's next match is Sunday, October 16th against Sonoma State in Kellogg Stadium with kickoff set for 11:30 am.
