No. 10 Broncos Tie Cougars at Home

POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos hosted the Cal State San Marcos Cougars for the early game in Sunday's double header. The Broncos were quick to score, but the Cougars came back to tie the game, 2-2.
 
Midfielder Christian Miramontes scored the first goal for the Broncos in the fourth minute off an assist by midfielder Mike Moser. Before the first half concluded, midfielder Oscar Griehsel Facey scored a goal in the 29th minutes from an assist by Paul Roger Henschke.
 
The second half the Broncos were scoreless as the Cougars scored a goal in the 50th minute and the game tying goal in the 85th minute. The game closed with a tie, 2-2. The Broncos now have a CCAA record of 4-0-3 and an overall record of 8-1-4.
 
Leading CPP in shots was forward Jerry Ramirez who had four shots on the game. Midfielder Mads Frederiksen took three shots and had two shots on goal. Miramontes closed the game with two shots and two shots on goal.
 
"We played some good soccer at times and created a lot of chances, but we have to take them," said coach Matt O'Sullivan. "It's a frustrating day as we don't seem to be learning from the past. That's our fourth tied game, all from winning positions."
 
CPP's next match is Friday, October 14th against San Francisco State in Kellogg Stadium with kickoff set for 7:00 pm.
