Gayles Jr. Scores Career High 22 Points in Win Against La Sierra, 82-56

POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona sophomore guard Chris Gayles Jr. nabbed his career high 22 points as the Broncos overwhelmed the La Sierra Golden Eagles to take the dominant victory, 82-56.
 
The Broncos were quick to create a double-digit lead, with only seven minutes into the first half a dunk by Malachi Murrell set the score 17-6. CPP continued to expand their lead, heading into the second half the score was 46-26.
 
The Golden Eagles improved their scoring in the second half, collecting a total 32 points on the half. The Broncos continued their pace and took the win, 82-56.
 
The leading scorer for the Broncos was Gayles Jr. who scored 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Also scoring in double-digits was Caleb Nelson who collected 16 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Derrick Claxton tallied 10 points of his own, and had four rebounds on the game.
 
The Broncos' next game is Thursday, December 1st as they open the CCAA conference with a matchup against the Cal State Monterey Otters in Seaside with tipoff set for 7:30 pm.
