No. 11 Broncos Topped By No. 1 Cal State LA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 11 Cal Poly Pomona traveled to Los Angeles to take on the No. 1 Cal State LA Golden Eagles in their last preseason match. The Broncos were unable to pass the Golden Eagles defense and were kept scoreless as they lost, 0-6.
 
Heading into CCAA conference play the Broncos stand with an overall record of 5-1-1.
 
The Broncos took 14 shots against the Golden Eagles nine shots. CPP forced six corner kicks while CSULA only took one. Both teams had six shots on goal, but the Golden Eagles had six saves keeping Cal Poly Pomona out of the net.
 
Leading the Broncos in shots was forward Jerry Ramirez who took three shots with one shot on goal. Both Paul Roger Henschke and Melvyn Perez Cortez had two shots and one shot on goal on the game.
 
Next week CCAA conference play begins as CPP takes faces Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm.
