CHICO, Calif. – Freshman guard
Shyheim Parm scored 13 points and had four rebounds in the Cal Poly Pomona's 81-64 loss to the Chico State Wildcats at Acker Gymnasium in Chico.
With this loss the Broncos are 7-5 and 4-4 in the CCAA. Chico State improved their record to 8-6 and 6-3 in the CCAA.
Sophomore forward
Caleb Nelson was the first on the board for the Broncos as he scored a three-point shot to start the game from an assist by sophomore guard
Chris Gayles Jr. CPP and the Wildcats would exchange leads for a total of 10 times, their largest lead with the score at 24-17 with 7:18 on the clock in the first half.
Parm scored four of his last five shots to bring his shooting percentage to 62.5% on the game. Also scoring in double digits for CPP was sophomore guard
Brase Dottin who collected 12 points, shooting 4-6 in field goals and 3-5 in three pointers.
The last lead the Broncos held was in the second half with 14:47 left in the game with the score at 46-43. The Broncos were down six with 4:29 left in the game. With 2:38 on the clock in the second half Chico State went on a 10-2 run to top CPP, 81-64.
The Broncos' next game is Saturday, January 14th as they take on Stanislaus State in Turlock, with tip-off set for 3:00 pm.
