POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team jumped out to a significant 27-4 lead after the first nine minutes of the contest and held a double-digit lead the rest of the way, cruising to a 75-58 victory over visiting Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday evening at Kellogg Arena in Pomona.
The Broncos have won four straight games, rising to 12-3 overall and 9-2 in the CCAA. The Lumberjacks fell to 6-9 (4-7 CCAA).
While CPP was in control the entire 40 minutes of action, Humboldt did rally to pull within 12 points at 46-34 with 7:58 to go in the third quarter, but the Broncos went on a 17-2 run over the next six minutes to grab their largest lead of 27 points at 63-36 with a minute remaining in the third.
