FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos junior
Ryan Fields and sophomore
Nnamdi Onwaeze both seal top national rankings at the Ben Brown Invite/AstroAI Distance Classic in Fullerton.
Fields adds another provisional mark and now ranks first place in the NCAA Division II performance list in the 400 meter after he closed the event with a time of 47.27. Onwaeze is ranked second nationally in the 110 meter hurdles as he finished with a time of 14.19.
In the 5000 meter,
Daniel Echeveste crossed the line with a time of 14:29.35 is now ranked first nationally in the event.
Ricardo Vargas finished close behind with a time of 14:34.51 for a third place national ranking.
For the throw squad, Dominique Navarrette threw a distance of 50' 0.5" in the shot put ranking him 7
th in the nation and 163' 5" in the discus ranking him third nationally in the event.
In the 3000 steeplechase,
Chris Razo sealed a time of 9:15.94 for a third place national ranking.
Nicholas Albro crossed the line with at time of 9:23.56 and
Evan Franco finished with a time of 9:28.43, ranking fourth and fifth nationally, respectively.
The Broncos next meet is the Cougar Invitational held in San Marcos, Saturday March 25
th.
