OFFICIAL CCAA RELEASE

POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona junior Matteo Madrassi has been selected as the CCAA Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 27 - Mar. 5^th, it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
 
At the Beach Opener in Long Beach, Madrassi tied for first place in the pole vault event as he sealed a mark of 5.10m (16' 8.75") which was .10m from his personal best of 5.20m that he grabbed last year at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
 
According to the NCAA Div. II Outdoor performance list, Madrissi is now ranked first in the nation in pole vault as he leads the next position by .25 meters, and he leads the CCAA by .70m to his closest opponent.
 
The Broncos next meet will be this weekend, March 10^th – 11^th at the Ben Brown Invite in Fullerton.
