WALNUT, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona junior
Ryan Fields adds his second all-time record to his list while the Broncos capture more provisional marks over the weekend.
At the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday, Fields broke the all-time school record in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.75 and is now ranked sixth on the NCAA Div. II performance list. Fields now holds two Broncos records as he also holds the record in the 400 meter hurdles.
Alessio Sommacal also raced in the 110 meter hurdles event and captured a provisional mark of 14.42. The 4x100 relay team of
Bryce Bushnell,
Lorenzo Boyd,
Joshua Johnson, and
Deandre Smith grabbed a provisional mark time of 40.67. Closing out the meet was the 4x400 relay team of Jake Tilford,
Camden Patterson,
Kaelin Moore, and Fields who finished with a time of 3:10.94 for a provisional mark and are now ranked eighth nationally.
The Broncos were also competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Multi, hosted by Azusa Pacific on Friday and Saturday.
Nicholas Albro grabbed his own provisional mark in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:10.79 ranking him 24
th in the nation.
Matteo Madrassi cleared a height of 17' 4.5", just 2.5" from his personal best in the pole vault. He still holds first place nationally in the event.
Khai Redd improved on his personal best in the shot put as he tossed 14.73 meters. Sommocal also improved a personal best as he sealed a time of 53.35 in the 400 meter hurdles. Bushnell grabbed a new personal best in the 200 meters with a time of 21.36.
The Broncos next and final meet before the CCAA Track and Field Championships is on April 28
th – 29
th at the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine.
