HONOLULU – Undefeated Chaminade University kept its record perfect with a 3-0 upset victory (25-20, 25-22, 25-18) over No. 23-ranked Cal Poly Pomona Saturday to close out the Hawai'i Challenge.
The Broncos drop to 3-1 on the year with their first loss of the season, while the Silverswords improve to 6-0 with their sixth-straight win.
Three Broncos finished the night with double-digit kills, with
Samantha Campion and
Madison Novak each posting 12 kills.
Daisy Duke followed with 10 kills, while
Caitie Mueller dished out 30 assists.
Off the net,
Alexia Athans finished with four blocks, while
Kaitlan Tucker had three and Novak posted two.
Chaminade proved to be a threat at the line and finished with seven aces in the match, whereas Duke was the lone Bronco to grab an ace against the Silverswords.
The Broncos return home to the mainland and gear up to host the Broncos Fall Classic, which begins Thursday. CPP first hosts Northwest Nazarene University at 6 p.m. inside the Kellogg Arena.
