Broncos Remain Perfect at Home With 10th Straight Win

POMONA, CA – The No. 14 ranked Cal Poly Pomona women's volleyball team continued to dominate CCAA action, claiming their 10th consecutive win on Saturday afternoon against Chico State. With the win, CPP improves to an impressive 13-1 to open the season while remaining perfect at home (8-0) and in conference (6-0).

This early success has become the standard for the Broncos, as they have owned a 13-1 record through the first 14 games in four of the past five seasons (2018, 2021, 2022, 2023), the latter three coming under head coach Traci Dahl.

Saturday's win also put the 2023 team tied for the fifth-longest winning streak in program history, matching a 10-game winning streak set in 1985. The second-longest streak in CPP history was set just last year when the Broncos rattled off 14 straight wins after a loss in their season opener.

4 11 Matches 1991
5 10 Matches 2023

Just as they have done in each of the last four matches, the Broncos swept the Wildcats in three straight sets. CPP has not lost a set in two weeks, and Saturday's win was their ninth sweep of the season. The only time they have lost more than one set in a match was their lone loss against Chaminade in the Hawai'i Challenge.

Daisy Duke and Samantha Campion led the attack, each collecting double-digit kills with a hit percentage above .450. Caitie Mueller dished out her fourth-most assists of the season at 41, bringing her season total to 499 and leading the CCAA with 10.85 assists per set. The Broncos currently rank first in the CCAA in points per set (18.48), kills per set (14.33), and assists per set (12.87).

Senior Kaitlan Tucker was credited with her fifth block solo of the season, bringing her career total to 54. This now puts her tied with Kim Schaeffer (1987-90) for 10th most in program history. Tucker and Alexia Athans lead the Broncos in total blocks on the season with 40.0 and 41.0, respectively.
