Victorious Momentum: Broncos Remain Undefeated with 6-2 Win

PUEBLO, Color. - The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos remain undefeated after their 6-2 win against Colorado State University Pueblo in non-conference play.

The match began with Auburn Burnett scoring the first goal at the 3:24 mark, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Shortly after, the Broncos extended their lead with a goal from Tara Oper in the 13th minute, scoring her second goal only 5 games into the season. CSU Pueblo attempted to catch Cal Poly Pomona's lead with a goal at the 21 minute mark. At halftime, the Broncos lead 2-1.

Despite a spirited comeback from the Thunderwolves, the Broncos responded with relentless offense. Anna Schellpeper and Lavinia Vaipulu scored in the 65 and 66 minute marks to further extend the Broncos lead. The Thunderwolves managed to make one more goal at the 68:37 mark, but the Broncos came back and scored two more. Schellpeper scored her second goal of the game at the 69 minute mark and true freshman, Kiarra D'Arcangelo, scored her first collegiate goal at the 78:51 mark.

With this win, the nationally ranked Cal Poly Pomona Broncos improved their record to 5-0-0. With this record, the team ties their best start in program history. Their next matchup is against MSU Denver on Sunday, September 22 (11 a.m. PT). This game can be viewed on the RMAC Network.
