POMONA, Calif. – In a thrilling five-set battle at Kellogg Arena on Thursday night, Cal Poly Pomona rallied for a 3-2 victory over CCAA rival Cal State San Bernardino, taking the match by set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 16-25, 25-17, and 18-16. The win was the Broncos' 11
th straight, improving them to 13-4 overall and 11-0 in CCAA play, marking one of their biggest wins of the 2025 season.

Cal Poly Pomona set the tone early, erasing a mid-set deficit to claim the opening frame 25-22, capped by a four-kill surge from
Elle Walker. After CSUSB stormed back to win the next two sets behind a powerful front line, the Broncos regrouped in the fourth.

Alexia Athans ignited the turnaround, combining for nine kills as CPP hit .255 and evened the match.

The decisive fifth set showcased the first-place Broncos' poise under pressure. Down 13-9, the Broncos rattled off five straight points to regain the lead at 14-13. The two teams traded the next six points, before Walker's final kill of the night sealed the victory.

Sarah Ybarra turned in yet another double-double performance in the win, logging a match-high 23 kills and 16 digs. Walker added a career-high 18 kills on a .318 hitting percentage, delivering several clutch swings. Setter
Kacie Caoili continued to guide the offense with 49 assists and contributed defensively with seven digs and a block.

Anastacia Garza added eight kills and four blocks at the net.
