MERCED, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona volleyball continued its conference dominance with a commanding 3-0 sweep over UC Merced (25-19, 25-11, 25-16) on Saturday afternoon at Greg and Cathie Hostetler Court. With the victory, the Broncos improved to 16-4 overall and remained unbeaten at 14-0 in CCAA play, while also winning their first-ever match against UC Merced.

The Broncos had a balanced team effort, finishing with a .282 hitting percentage and seven total team blocks while holding UC Merced to a -0.010 hitting mark - their best since September 29
th, 2023 when they also held Stanislaus State to a -0.010 attack percentage. Cal Poly Pomona's offense gained momentum as the match progressed, hitting .138 in the first set before surging to .391 in the second and .333 in the third. The team also converted 71 percent of its side out opportunities and recorded five service aces.

In the opening set, CPP overcame several early lead changes before pulling away late with a 12-7 run to secure the 25-19 victory. The second frame saw the Broncos dominate from the service line and at the net, scoring 10 of the first 14 points and cruising to a 25–11 win while holding the Bobcats to a -0.029 attack percentage. Cal Poly Pomona maintained full control in the third set, leading wire-to-wire with a .333 team hitting clip and an impressive 13-of-17 slide out conversion rate.

Defensively, CPP limited UC Merced to just 24 kills on 98 attempts, forcing 25 errors while adding 43 digs and seven team blocks.
Charlotte Koerber led the attack with 10 kills, while
Kacie Caoili added 28 assists.
Anastacia Garza led the match with five total blocks, as she ranks second on the team with 49.0 this season, second only to
Alexia Athans at 65.0 blocks.
