Bell and Broadous Fuel Broncos’ Win Over Biola

LA MIRADA, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona built on their early-season momentum with an 80-72 win over Biola Saturday night. The Broncos leaned on a balanced offensive attack and timely defensive stops to pull away in the second half and improve to 5-1 on the season.

CPP opened the game with strong defensive pressure, forcing turnovers that led to easy transition opportunities. Malcolm Bell sparked the offense with inside finishes and active work on the glass, while Zach Broadous provided perimeter scoring to help keep the Broncos ahead in a tightly contested first half. Kevin Simeth and Edric Dennis contributed both inside and from distance, and Shyheim Parm added key free throws to send CPP into halftime with a narrow 38-33 lead.

The second half brought more offensive rhythm for the Broncos. Bell continued to dominate inside, while Broadous and Dennis hit critical shots from outside. Parm stayed steady at the line, going 8-of-10, and CPP used a 10-2 run midway through the half to create separation.

Biola remained competitive, trimming the lead at several points, but Cal Poly Pomona's balanced scoring, strong rebounding, and bench contributions kept the advantage intact. Bell finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, Broadous added 17, Dennis 12, Simeth 7, and Parm 8 points with five assists.

Strong interior defense and late free throws allowed CPP to close out the 80-72 win.
