TURLOCK, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball delivered their most dominant victory of the season on Sunday afternoon, rolling past Stanislaus State, 75-37, at Fitzpatrick Arena to remain unbeaten in conference play. The Broncos improved to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in CCAA action, while claiming their eighth straight win.
No. 15 ranked Cal Poly Pomona seized control from the opening quarter, building a 17-10 lead after one and extending the margin to 32-17 by halftime. The Broncos' defense limited Stanislaus State to just 21.2 percent shooting for the game, including 0-for-11 from three-point range, while forcing 28 turnovers that fueled transition opportunities and consistent offensive pressure.
Andrea Stajic led the Broncos with 11 points on an efficient 4-of-7 shooting, knocking down three triples and adding four assists, six rebounds, and three steals.
Brielle Minor was equally impactful, finishing with 11 points, five assists, and two steals, while providing steady leadership at both ends of the floor.
Jeanette Fine added nine points in under 10 minutes of action, consistently converting second-chance opportunities inside, and
Mydrea Moore led CPP down low with 10 boards – the third time she has reached double figures in a game this season.
The decisive moment came in the third quarter, when Cal Poly Pomona erupted for 27 points. The Broncos opened the half with a blistering shooting stretch, hitting five three-pointers, including three from Stajic in a three minute stretch, to put the game out of reach. That surge included a 10-0 run midway through the quarter, highlighted by crisp ball movement that repeatedly broke down the Stanislaus State defense.
The Broncos finished with advantages in points off turnovers (26-7), points in the paint (32-20), and bench scoring (31-15), highlighting a complete team performance on both ends of the court for their eighth straight victory. Their 38-point win marks the greatest margin of victory against an NCAA Division II opponent since defeating Stanislaus State by 48 points back on January 31, 2013.
