POMONA, Calif. - In their first meeting since the 2024 West Regional Final, Cal Poly Pomona dominated San Francisco State in a loud 3-0 sweep, holding the Gators to set scores of just 25-16, 25-7, and 25-10. With the win, the Broncos improve to 6-4 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in CCAA, as they are just one of three teams to have not lost in conference play.

From the opening serve, the Broncos controlled the tempo with a balanced attack and relentless defensive pressure. Junior
Sarah Ybarra powered the offense with 13 kills on an efficient .417 hitting percentage, while also contributing 13 digs and three blocks to finish with a match-high 17 points.
Elle Walker added 16 kills and hit .577, marking a season-high in the latter for the Brentwood native.

Freshman setter
Kacie Caoili guided the offense to near perfection, dishing out 31 assists and leading the team to an impressive .442 hitting percentage overall – marking CPP's third-best in a match since the start of the 2022 season. Caoili's steady presence also produced five digs, two kills, and two block assists.

Cal Poly Pomona's depth shined, with multiple attackers finding success at the net.
Alexia Athans tallied six kills on 11 swings without an error (.545), while
Anastacia Garza chipped in six kills and four blocks against her former team.
Charlotte Koerber also added six kills and was a key factor at the net with three blocks.

Defensively, the Broncos smothered San Francisco State, limiting the visitors to a .047 hitting percentage and forcing 13 attack errors. Cal Poly Pomona out-blocked the Gators 9-6, with Garza and Ybarra combining for key stops at the net. Libero

The first set saw the Broncos jump out to an early lead, including a 10-1 run that put the Broncos up 19-7. In the second frame, Cal Poly Pomona put on a clinic, rolling to a 25-7 win with an incredible 12-point stretch to go up 18-5. The third set sealed the sweep as the Broncos closed the match on an 11-4 run, with Walker collecting three of the final five kills in the match.
