POMONA, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona volleyball delivered a dominant all-around performance Thursday night, sweeping Cal State Dominguez Hills, 25-10, 25-16, 25-18, at Kellogg Arena. The Broncos improved to 18-4 overall and 8-2 in CCAA play with their third consecutive victory. Sarah Ybarra added 11 kills on .500 hitting, while Addi Knight recorded nine kills and hit .571. Charlotte Koerber contributed eight kills, 12 digs, and a service ace, and is now just nine kills away from 1,000 in her collegiate career. Paige Bowyer directed the offense with 37 assists, two service aces, and six digs. Renee Nachtigall anchored the back row with a team-high 15 digs, while Keira Limbrick added eight digs and two aces.

Cal Poly Pomona seized control early in the opening set. After Dominguez Hills took the first point, the Broncos scored six of the next seven points, including kills from Koerber, Ybarra, and Bowyer, to move ahead 6-2. CPP continued to apply pressure from the service line, using a pair of Limbrick aces to extend the advantage to 19-7. Nachtigall later served an ace during a 4-0 run that pushed the Broncos in front 24-8, and Walker closed out the set with her fourth kill, 25-10.

The second set was tighter early, with CPP holding a 6-5 lead. The Broncos recorded four consecutive kills by the dynamic duo of Walker and Ybarra to build a 10-5 advantage. Dominguez Hills briefly cut the deficit to 15-10, however Bowyer then served an ace and helped set up kills by Bronwyn Rowse and Knight as the Broncos extended their lead to 24-14. Rowse finished the set with another kill, giving CPP a 25-16 victory.

Dominguez Hills opened the third set with three of the first four points, but Cal Poly Pomona quickly responded. The Broncos scored nine of the next 10 points, with two kills from Walker and three from Athans to give CPP a 14-5 advantage.

The Toros attempted to rally, cutting the margin to 16-10, but CPP answered to move ahead 22-13. Dominguez Hills scored four of five late, but Ybarra ended the match with a kill from Limbrick, completing the sweep at 25-18.
