No. 5 Broncos Extend Unbeaten Start in Cal Poly Clash

ARCATA, Calif. – In the first Cal Poly Clash of the year, No. 5 Cal Poly Pomona remained unbeaten after battling Cal Poly Humboldt to a scoreless result Sunday at College Creek Field. The Broncos moved to 5-0-6 overall and 2-0-4 in CCAA play while recording their seventh shutout of the season.

CPP controlled the attacking opportunities in a physical conference contest, out shooting the hosts 20-8 and placing six attempts on target. The Broncos set the tone early, producing an 11-1 advantage in first-half shots and forcing five saves before halftime.

Carly Radke led the offense with a match-high five shots, including one on goal. Charlie Gallardo added four attempts and placed one on frame, while Kailey Powers and Morgan Huff contributed two shots apiece. Jenna Santos, Sabine Ramos and Sasha Redshaw tested the opposing goalkeeper with shots on target.

Parker LaMont and the Bronco back line delivered another strong defensive performance. LaMont made two saves, while the team added another stop to preserve the clean sheet. Holly Wilbanks, Georgia Rink and Mikaela Marr each played the full 90 minutes, helping limit the opposition to three shots on goal. LaMont also went the distance in the net and remained unbeaten this season.

CPP continued to push for the deciding goal late in the match. Radke forced a save in the 78th minute and had another attempt blocked in the 85th before Powers sent the Broncos' final shot wide in the closing minute. Despite not finding the net, Cal Poly Pomona extended its unbeaten start and secured another conference point on the road.
