SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona volleyball earned a pair of straight-set victories on Friday, defeating Seattle Pacific and Westmont in San Bernardino to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Cal Poly Pomona opened the day with a 27-25, 25-18, 25-19 sweep of Seattle Pacific behind an all-around performance from Sarah Ybarra.
 
Ybarra finished with a match-high 15 kills on .393 hitting while adding a career-high five service aces. Alexia Athans contributed seven kills without an error on 10 attempts for a .700 hitting percentage, and Charlotte Koerber added eight kills and 12 digs. Lexi Zammit directed the offense with 32 assists as the Broncos hit .297 for the match.
 
The opening set featured 12 ties and seven lead changes. CPP held a 24-21 advantage before Seattle Pacific scored four consecutive points to move ahead, 25-24. Ybarra answered with a kill to keep the set alive, Addi Knight followed with another kill, and Renee Nachtigall ended the frame with a service ace.
 
After Seattle Pacific erased a five-point deficit to tie the second set at 14, the Broncos responded with four straight points. Back-to-back aces from Nachtigall later extended CPP's lead to 21-16, helping the Broncos secure the set.
 
Ybarra then fueled a five-point run in the third with three aces as CPP turned a 4-3 edge into a 9-3 advantage. The Falcons pulled within two at 18-16, but Ybarra halted the rally with a kill before the Broncos closed out the sweep. Nachtigall collected 12 digs and three aces as CPP finished with 12 aces and seven blocks.

Cal Poly Pomona completed its unbeaten day with a 25-16, 25-21, 25-20 victory over Westmont, hitting .326 as a team and committing only 11 attacking errors.
 
Ybarra again led the Broncos with 15 kills, posting a .520 hitting percentage while adding 11 digs for a double-double. Athans recorded six kills on 10 errorless swings to hit .600, while Koerber supplied eight kills. Zammit distributed 33 assists and served two aces, and Nachtigall paced the back row with 13 digs.
 
CPP seized control of the opening set with a five-point service run from Keira Limbrick that turned a 1-1 tie into a 6-1 lead. The Broncos hit .364 in the frame, and Amelia Bonnema delivered the final kill to cap the nine-point win.
 
The second set remained tight through the early stages before CPP used a 5-0 run to open a 12-7 advantage. Ybarra recorded two kills during the surge, while Zammit added an ace. Westmont later pulled within one at 19-18, but the Broncos answered with a 5-1 run highlighted by three Ybarra kills to reach set point.
 
CPP built another early cushion in the third, using a 6-1 stretch to take a 10-5 lead. Westmont trimmed the margin to 20-16 before the Broncos regained control, with Rachel Mau's ace extending the advantage to six. Bonnema closed the match with kills as CPP completed its second sweep of the day.
